 I write love songs
But never have I been in love
I write them cause they aren't about love
They're about hope
Compassion for another person
Something I fear I'll never achieve
But the thought of love for me is hope
Hope someone will love me like I love this world
This world that hates and fears so much
But is beautiful and intricate and worth protecting
The world is what we make it
And love it's what we make it out to be
So I write love songs
And I write hope
And I write to try and show the world love and beauty can win
Please let them win for the world is weighing down
With the worst of the world portrayed like a joke
And the best like a forgotten memory
And the kids of today and tomorrow fearing for they're lives
The world will always need love songs
And always need hope
So I'll write them for you and you can tell me your pain
And I'll wish for tomorrow and give up on today
Cause now all we've got is tomorrow the past smearing up my days
So let me write my love songs and get out of my way
